Too horrific for me
When I was eight, I made the mistake of watching The Exorcist on TV. It gave me nightmares for years and then I took an English class that specialized in horror during college and had to watch it again.
It was hard to make myself do it, but I knew that I needed to watch it again because I would be tested on it. But when I saw it, it wasn’t as bad as I remembered. I easily took notes and paid attention to all of the parts, even the scary ones.
It’s funny how things that you think are really scary or not at all when you’re a kid end up being the exact opposite in actuality when you watch them as an adult and can put them into context. After I realized that I watched the movie’s sequels on my wildblue satellite internet services, but they didn’t really compare in scariness to the original.
Going with that genre, I’m going to go and see the new movie ‘The Last Exorcism’ this weekend, but I’d be really surprised if it matched how scary the original ‘The Exorcist’ is.
